Review:

Genever provides the yuletide spirit base, sweetened and flavoured by cherry liqueur, with chinato drying and adding wine notes while gin adds freshness and botanical complexity. Maraschino and orange bitters complete this festive tipple.

Revisiting with more exact ingredients. Seriously good. Everything here is harmonious and integrated. Wonderful depth and complexity, but also delicate, elevated and pleasant. This recipe was worth the subscription fee alone. Well done, Simon.

Wow this is a serious flavour hit! All your favourite Xmas flavours in one- especially the plum pudding and cakes! Lacking the Chinato I subbed half Dubonnet and half Cocchi storico, which I suspect isn’t quite drying enough for the full measure (!) of Cherry Heering! Seriously good.

Subbing the usual red Maraschino cherries with green ones makes this one look extra christmassy ;)

I was looking for a Christmas cocktail that didn’t require pie spice or such. This hits the bullseye. What a lovely combination of flavors! I didn’t have chinato so I used Montenegro amaro, and I’m very pleased with the result. I shall mix a batch of this to serve on Xmas Day.

Beautifully hued drink for the Holidays.
Had to substitute Cynar for the Barolo Chinato, and liked the blending of flavour with cherry forward. We ended up sipping for a while, and this cocktail tasted great as it ‘warmed’ up a bit (less chilled). Love the substantial size as well ? (filled our coupes with Cheer-re!)
