Agreeing with all the comments. Definitely too sweet with the sugar syrup. Could be removed entirely. Still tasting nice.

One of our favourites. You will have to put in some time and effort in the kitchen beforehand to make it really sing. We use our own apricot and lavender jam. Use of any substitute for homemade jam will ruin this by rendering it too sweet.

I tried to use pomegranate juice without sugar syrup. Not great result.

Used 15ml apricot brandy instead of jam and removed the sugar syrup - it was delicious!

Yes indeed, a bit on the sweet side, with the tartness of the cranberries less pronounced. I think maybe the spoon was too full of jam, and it's sweet, being of the Tiptree variety. I’ll use less jam the next time.

I found these proportions a bit on the sweet side but dial down the sugar syrup to 5ml and it’s much more sophisticated
