I really like this with Del Maguey's Chichicapa Mezcal over their Vida. I think it's worth the added pour cost.

The Mezcal used has a lot to say.
Del Maguey Vide de Muertos overpowers the other ingredients 4/5.
So I made an extra with Gusano Rojo (Yes, that's a Mezcal with a worm.. 😅) which made for a far more balanced cocktail 5/5.

It's interesting and tasty, but I think I would enjoy it more with something else in place of the apertivo. Though it's growing more on me as I sip it.

I agree with Tuber Magnatum on going heavy on your mezcal.

Very minor point, but the artist that provided the inspiration for the name is Tricky, not Tricky Kid. Going to make this cocktail tonight, but probably won't end up naked and famous myself.

Having side by side with Division Bell really shows how the chartreuse bashes down the mezcal, much less smokiness to this. The chartreuse feels a bit out of place, rapidly punches you in the middle of your palate and then just leaves a licorice aftertaste. Prefer the Division Bell.

Made again yesterday with Gracias a Dios mezcal, Meunier Altitude Genepy, lemon juice, and Buiese Lusor instead of Aperol. Added some simple syrup to rebalance, since both the Meunier and Lusor are drier than their counterparts. Overall a successful modification. The Lusor adds more bitterness and complexity than Aperol, and can stand up to the mezcal.

Not having any Yellow I made this with Green Chartereuse. Also ran out of Mezcal halfway so used bacanora tequila as it is quite smokey. Very tasty! Thinking of calling Naked and Infamous!

As per other comments, a really excellent cocktail. I'm thinking next time, notwithstanding this is one of those equal parts cocktails, I would like to try increasing the Mezcal a tad just to give it a little more oomph. Not sure if that will throw off the balance too much; we will see!

Wow, made this with Tequila because was out of Mezcal, will have to get some Mezcal, don't know how it could be any better but I will see. This is a keeper, surprisingly well balanced.

The first cocktail I've made with mezcal, and what a great choice - smoky and savory agave complimented by herbs and citrus. If you're short on Chartreuse ( as most of us, unfortunately) - try to sub it with Liquore Strega, worked great for me. Strega's more robust spiciness works great with mezcal IMO.

Having tried this with Resposado in place of Mezcal and not been blown away I've now bought a bottle of Mezcal and it's a whole other beast. Great cocktail. I've never tried Mezcal before and am now looking forward to seeing what else I can make with it.

This is fabulous, I was expecting to tweak it one way or another but loved it just as it is; this is definitely in my top 10!
