Made this both per the recipe and as an equal parts drink. For me, adding an ounce of lemon juice and lime juice really balanced out the other sweet components. In fact, that oz of lime juice gives the drink a much welcomed faint bitterness.

Was too sweet for me. With 45ml of Cognac is perfect.
Great suggestion! Really liked the additional half oz.
What would be an acceptable substitute for this product?
Would you be opposed to adding Torani's Raspberry syrup to your list of premade raspberry syrups?
The Ingredients category („Navy strength >54%“) does not seem right as the alcohol percentage is just 40% vol.
Yeah. It seems unfitting to have Pussers 40% grouped with Navy Strength.
This is a wonderful cocktail but, it's not clear to me if I should give it a try with 40ml of whiskey. Did the original version ask for 30ml, or was it 20ml and it has been updated? Cheers!
I'm not sure either. I first made the drink with 30 ml whiskey then 40 ml; I found the 40 ml better. Try making it initially with 30 mls then added 10 mls.
Great drink. I made it both with of ginger ale and ginger beer; 1-2oz of ginger beer worked better for me. The ginger ale made the drink too sweet. Added a dash of ango too.

Would Fee Brothers Cardamom Boker's-Style Bitters be a welcomed addition to you list of Boker's / Bogart's Bitters?
I'm sure there are, but I've not yet encountered them. Please comment here with an alternative if you find one.
Would you consider Coruba Dark Rum a Jamaican-style aged blended rum with funk?
Are there any other examples of this kind of rum? Not there's anything wrong with Myers's.
A couple tsp of Maraschino liqueur elevates this nicely
I took your advice and added 1tsp and it really improved the drink.
Really good! The gin adds a lovely herbal bitterness that balances the drink. You can taste all the elements and they work together.
