How to make:

STIR half of the rum, sugar syrup and bitters with two ice cubes in glass. Add rest of rum, another couple of ice cubes and STIR again. Fill glass with ice and STIR again. Finally FLOAT apple juice.

Garnish:

Orange zest twist

Comment:

Richly flavoured, almost like molasses.

About:

This twist on the Old-Fashioned was created by Dick Bradsell. Like the original, it takes a few minutes to make and there are no shortcuts. The apple juice Dick originally used is the cheap clear stuff rather than the posh pressed cloudy apple juice. In this drink, cheap is best.

Nutrition:

There are approximately 169 calories in one serving of Treacle No.1.
