we enjoyed this, despite my general skepticism of crème de menthe and cacao. Both were basic Leroux brand. It all meshed very well. We will definitely do it again.

Vodka just destroys the potential of this drink... Made it once with that; one sip, one dump... Made it again with Appleton Estate 8 and it was a glorious treat. Reminded me of Thin Mints cookies.

I used a relatively basic creme de cacao as well, in Cartron dark. It all just seemed to work out with that Appleton in it.

The cacao rim adds a great nose to the drink. I was skeptical of the dry vermouth, but it adds subtle complexity. Very good. I used Corgi Vodka, Giffard Menthe-Pastille, Giffard White Crème de Cacao, and a peppermint Peep garnish.

Oh, and Cinzano 1757 for the vermouth.

The dry vermouth is not perceptible whatsoever. The mint and chocolate were the prime flavours. Also, I used mandarin juice instead of orange for the rim. But I could not feel anything in the final drink.

Outstanding after a wonderful dinner. Like drinking an alcoholic version of an After 8. Going on my favourites.
