Bittersweet orange-red aperitivo

Apple juice/apple cider (cloudy & unsweetened)

Del Maguey Vida Clásico Mezcal

1/3 fl oz

Vanilla flavoured vodka

1/3 fl oz

Sugar syrup 'rich' (2 sugar to 1 water) 65.0°Brix

Prepare

Select and pre-chill a COUPE GLASS.

Method

Cut a passion fruit in half and scoop the flesh and seeds from each half into shaker.

Add other ingredients and SHAKE with ice.

FINE STRAIN into chilled glass.

Garnish

Garnish with passion fruit half floated on surface.

So sweet. I didn't like it. Went for the lime, and the bitters of chile. It was drinkable. But for the very beggining it was so candy. I stay with the naked and famous, not the infamous. And it was pouring and I went for apple juice, full of expectatives. :(

Tastes like candy but in a good way. Not sure about removing the lime juice completely, I'll probably retry with some.

Quite rich actuallly, befitting of the Pornstar-tini. Nonetheless, the orange and/or red bitter aperitif and the Yellow Chartreuse save it and makes it a complex drink nonetheless. I do wonder what the results would have been if lime juice replaced the apple juice. That's my only question mark.
