Review:

A Bronx made 'bloody' by the use of blood oranges. Fruity yet dry with botanical notes both from the vermouth and the gin.

Used 2/3 oz Tempus Fugit Alessio red vermouth, which is fairly assertive and not overly sweet, and 1/3 oz Cocchi Extra Dry with 2 dashes Angostura Orange Bitters. Makes for a somewhat tart, refreshing aperitif that features the blood orange and the flavors of the red vermouth. Nothing bland about this Bronx.

One day someone will invent a good Bronx recipe.

Yeaaah!... Of the many blood orange cocktails I've shaken this afternoon, this curiously has the most blood orange character of the lot. Or maybe I've had too many blood orange cocktails ;) ... I would certainly make this again, even with another variety of orange. (2 Feb 2022, 4:27p)

This is beautifully balanced and delicious. I cheated slightly by using Punt e Mes instead of sweet vermouth (because love Punt e Mes). I've since visited the Bronx page, and two variants seem perfect for consecutive days: a Silver Bronx followed by a Golden Bronx - an efficient way of adding egg (white, then yolk) to cocktails!
