How to make:
SHAKE all ingredients with ice and fine strain into chilled glass.
2/3 fl oz | Bourbon whiskey |
2/3 fl oz | Grand Marnier or other cognac orange liqueur |
1/3 fl oz | Lillet Blanc (or other aromatized wine) |
1/3 fl oz | Blanc quinquina/kina (e.g. Mattei Cap Corse or Kina L'Aéro d'Or) |
3/4 fl oz | Orange juice (freshly squeezed) |

History:
First published in William James "Billy" Tarling's 1937 Café Royal Bar Book where the invention of this cocktail is credited to "A. L. Jones." The Sunray was brought to our attention by Jason E. Clapham of St. Edward's MCR at Oxford, England who recommends making it with Cocchi Americano in place of the Kina Lillet used in the 1937 recipe.
