How to make

Glass

Prepare

  1. Select and pre-chill a COUPE GLASS.
  2. Prepare garnish of Luxardo Maraschino Cherry.

Method

  1. STIR all ingredients with ice.
  2. FINE STRAIN into chilled glass.

  1. Garnish with maraschino cherry.

Review

Bourbon and apricot are a well-established match, and everybody who drinks Manhattan's will recognise how well sweet vermouth and bitters work with bourbon. Hence, it's perhaps not surprising that this spirit-forward cocktail is delicious.

Yeah, this is another Manhattan riff that (in my mind) surpass the original. The spicy bitterness works great with the bourbon, and the Apricot is a nice accent without overtaking the flavours. This is also one of those cocktails where a dash of Angostura actually shows up in the flavour profile. It's not really needed for the bitterness but the warm spices helps to round everything off and come together.

Good Manhattan riff. I thought the apricot was pretty subtle but still a tasty drink. I used wild turkey 101, punt e mes and Rothman & Winter orchard apricot and ango.

This has been on our wish list and lost at the bottom. So glad we decided to try. Excellent rift on the Manhattan with slight peach hints. Wonderful as an early evening aperitif.

Recently started going through my ‘wish list’ and this was one of them. I have many liqueurs for which I don’t have enough cocktails to make with so it was great to see a list with apricot brandy. I do love my Manhattans so
that was very pleasurable.

I liked this one very much – 4.5 of 5 – although before I even knew that I elected to interpret the ratio as 6:3:1 (cl), which results in the size of a cocktail that I prefer.
