Fragrant balance of fruits and flowers.
Adapted from a recipe created in 2002 by Wayne Collins in London, England. Wayne was representing Plymouth Gin at the time, so used this in his cocktail. Plymouth Gin, which takes its name from and is made in the port city of Plymouth in Devon, in turn influenced the cocktail's name.
The first permanent English settlers to establish a Colony in New England (America) were pilgrims who, in 1620, set sail from Plymouth on two ships, the Mayflower and the Speedwell. The Speedwell proved unseaworthy, so had to be abandoned, but after an arduous two-month voyage, the Mayflower anchored off the coast of Cape Cod in November 1620. The passengers arrived at what they named Plymouth Harbor on 16th December 1620 and settled there.
