Serve in aCoupe glass
Orange zest twist (a lemon zest twist is more classic). Some also like a sugared rim but my version of the classic is balanced so rendering this embellishment superfluous.
How to make:
SHAKE all ingredients with ice and fine strain into chilled glass.
|1 1⁄2 fl oz||Cognac VSOP|
|1 fl oz||Triple sec liqueur (40%)|
|3⁄4 fl oz||Freshly squeezed lemon juice|
|1⁄2 fl oz||Pineau des Charentes blanc|
|1⁄3 fl oz||Chilled water (omit if using wet ice)|

Complex and just on the tart side of balanced so still very much a sour. Those with a sweet tooth may prefer with a sugar rim.
